He also has passion to understand ancient civilizations and why such powerful and giant cultures came to cease from existence. To that end after graduating from high school in Skokie Illinois, he moved to California to continue his college education in science and engineering and came to learn how to translate ancient Egyptian and Babylonian Cuneiform writings and be closer to acting profession as well, as a result he went to hold degrees in Astro-Physics and Aerospace engineering along side of Drama in California.

During his college years as he was pursuing his engineering degrees, he was also actively training for acting by taking many film, acting and drama courses.

As he continued his engineering degrees, he began to get associated with many space programs at NASA.
He was involved in several research programs in and outside of NASA for exploring life else where as this was one of his passions since childhood.

During his associations with NASA, in 1986 he was recruited while in college to the Astronaut candidacy program for Space Shuttle, where he was given the opportunity to go to NASA’s Marshall Space flight for initial Astronautic training.

After successful completion of his initial training, he was assigned to become a mission specialist in the future Shuttle programs.

Due to some unfortunate event with Challenger accident, many NASA programs were placed on hold including programs that Cortelious was going to be participated in. At that point Cortelious decided he will embark on his own career paths and took his destiny in his own hands and started exploring other related careers working with some of the leaders in defense industry such firms as Lockheed Martin, TRW, Boeing, Space Systems Loral and others.

Currently he’s working in some of the most unbelievable classified defense projects with companies that cover, space, land and the sea for exploration and other national security missions. He has been involved in some amazing and classified work in DoD and None DoD projects that are at the cutting edge of all technologies.

As he moved on with his career, he always had the acting as his passion, continue and pursue his dream of becoming an established entertainer / actor at some point in his life.

He continues his acting and training in LA and San Francisco and getting his face in front of the industry people by actively going to all kinds of auditions which has landed him some roles on TV and features. As a result he was able to get his SAG card in 1990 and has been SAG member ever since.

Cortelious has been cast in variety of projects like: Action Films , SciFi, and Drama with such roles as a doctor, teacher, drug dealer, under cover cop, psychiatrist, husband with problems, big brother and many other roles in SciFi, Action and Drama.

Cortelious is still pursuing acting as a profession and is hoping to be discovered and be part of some exciting roles that he can bring the writers and directors visions to the big screen.

He has many entertainment industry associations, one of which, he is an active member of Actors Promotional Services (APS) based in heart of Hollywood, he’s one of the recommended actors by APS and Magnet to Hollywood Success publications by Michele Blood and Rock Riddle. Cortelious has been recognized and recommended by many in the industry as a serious and fine actor, just search his name online and you will see for yourself.
